All I Want for Christmas is a Pilot House

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun, but we were ready to trade in Buffalo snow for some southern sun and warmth. Too bad we haven't really had much of that yet. While we were gone, our friends on Elixer V  passed by the marina where our boat was safely tied up. It's been great keeping in touch with other boats we run into along the way. Whether they're offering a tip for a free dock or letting us know our boat hasn't sunk yet, other cruisers are always willing to help us out! Home sweet boat. After returning the rental car and doing some last-minute laundry, we set off back down the Intracoastal. Now, I definitely love the house Justin built for us in Buffalo, but some of the houses we passed were ginormous and super fancy, even by Justin standards. Think of all the cats I could fit in there! Prologue:  I wrote this blog about two weeks ago, then went to publish it and found it had completely disappeared. It took me a while to get over myself and get back to it, hence the delay in posting. But here it is: about a month of our lives in blog form. Enjoy. We left Washington DC and headed back down the Potomac in record time. I think we hit a super speedy eight knots! (That's nine miles per hour for you landlubbers.)
